TKO final to be played on ‘Reconciliation Day’

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) today announced that the 2015/16 Telkom Knockout final will be played on Reconciliation Day, 16 December 2015.

Brand de Villiers, the PSL Chief Executive, said the League had to move TKO final to mid-December to accommodate the South African U23 side that will be participating in the CAF mini-tournament as part of the Rio 2016 Olympics qualification.

“The PSL took a decision to rally behind the U23’s in their bid to qualify for Rio Olympics and, as part of our agreement with SAFA, we suspended both league and cup competition fixtures during this period. This also necessitated a decision on our side to move the TKO final to 16 December 2015. We would like to thank our sponsors and broadcast partners for their understanding as we get behind our U23 boys,” De Villiers said.

The venue and kick-off time of the #TKO2015 will be announced in due course.
