The annual David Makhura Charity Youth Games kicked-off on Tuesday 19 December at the Marobjane Sport Grounds in Bochum, Limpopo. The games will see over 64 soccer and netball teams competing to be crowned the 2017 champions. This is double the number of teams that participated in 2016.
Now in its third year, the David Makhura Charity Youth Games started as a plough back programme for the community of Bochum with the aim of unearthing talent by bringing education and football together for those who are talented to realise their dreams.
The winning soccer team will walkway with R20 000.00 and netball team with R4 000.00.
The four day fun-filled tournament is expected to end on a high note on Friday, 22 December as soccer legends including Doctor Khumalo, Steve Lekoelea and Thapelo Liau amongst others will also showcase their skills to the young stars.
