Steve Komphela tactics leave Kaizer Chiefs fans furious

Nedbank Cup Result: Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 Baroka FC (Mathoho 37′): Kaizer Chiefs  are through to the next round of the Nedbank Cup  after defeating Baroka FC 1-0 at the Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.

Lucky Maepa: We wont beat Maritzburg United, Free State Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns or Cape Town City with this kind of line up [Chiefs starting line-up vs Baroka FC: Khune, Cardoso, Mphahlele, Hadebe, Mathoho, Zulu, Katsande, Ekstein, Tshabalala, Castro, Moon]. Once again we needed set piece to score a goal. Makhosi, lets be honest, we are just too desperate hence we are forced to celebrate this mediocrity. This is not our Chiefs. I do not want to sound negative but is Baroka stronger than the other remaining Nedbank semifinalists or its just a matter of crossing that bridge when we get to it?

Khanyisa Ponco: Lol guys we really don’t have a coach though, our coach Steve Komphela uyaminya too much. Because we leading he substitutes on the 89th minute, I’ve never seen this in my life ever. Should Baroka FC scored there, we were going to lose because our coach doesn’t have a plan B. Thanks for the win Komphela but please leave, it’s clear that once a team scores first, we’ll never win that match because you don’t have plan B. This guy should’ve substituted and brought in ball players since he’s winning.

Tumi Tumisang: Not impressive win! Why did Steve [Komphela] leave the players in the bench until 85 minutes? Midfield was so open someone advice him Willard Katsande needs a tag partner! Overall Baroka FC dominated. I miss Stuart Baxter.

Sydney Lebea: Teenage Hadebe and Ramahlwe Mphahlele  were the weakest link. Tower [Erick Mathoho] thank you for saving Steve’s job. I hope we salvage our season and win this trophy [Nedbank Cup]. As to why Komphela didn’t play Tower the last game beats me.

Frank Mohale: Steve is left with less than 10 matches as a Chiefs coach… by the time he finishes those matches, he would have sent many fans to the grave with heart attacks…  just saying nje… Khosi I remain… with or without Steve.

Khanyisa Ponco: I can’t believe Chiefs appointed this coach and he finished 3 seasons. This guy doesn’t even know that when you winning, you can bring in ball players so that the opponents cannot always attack you, Komphela doesn’t have a plan B. If an opponent scores first, with this clueless coach Chiefs will never come back and win the game. I really hate this score line against Baroka, I so wish we can mooer this team with a big margin. Substitutions at the 87th minutes, I wonder what was he going to do should Baroka score.

TheKing Gaarekwe: I finally think I saw something that I think will work for Chiefs, the combination of Ryan Moon and Leonardo Castro. Castro is gifted, he has a massive ball control attribute. On the other hand he may have missed a penalty, but Moon is a quality target man. Castro can take players on, create chances and score goals, but Moon can just be there when u need him most. Thanks to Hendrick ‘Pule’ Ekstein and Siphiwe ‘Shabba’ Tshabalala who took the game to Baroka, I was quite skeptical with that lineup after all.
