The only contribution Steve Komphela made at Kaizer Chiefs is to teach players to use bombastic words during interviews, but as for standard of football, he contributed fokol.
Being Kaizer Chiefs coach without credentials was a blessing for him. As a black coach, born and bred in South Africa, I was happy for him when he got the job.
Regrettably, he failed to rise to the occasion to become one of the best local coaches. I personally prefer local coaches over international ones.
But as for Mr Komphela, I think he still needs more experience to coach big teams like Chiefs. He’s certainly not a bad coach, he just lacks experience. Small teams is the right place for him to gain experience.
