Khuzwayo wins MTN8 Last Fan Standing competition

The 2017 MTN8 Last Fan Standing was officially announced on Monday, 06 November 2017, and the winner walked away with a whopping R1 million and a priceless trip for him and seven friends to Russia.

After a four-month journey, it all drew to a close when Brian Khuzwayo from Edenvale in Johannesburg, battled it out against seven other contestants, Wafa Wafa style on national TV.

“We would like to congratulate Brian Khuzwayo for surging on and becoming the MTN8 Last Fan Standing for 2017, and we are excited to be making another life brighter with this phenomenal experience in Russia next year and R1 million,” said Mapula Bodibe, Consumer Business Executive, MTN SA.

The eight (8) lucky finalists were selected from thousands that took part in the “Are you IN or are you OUT” MTN8 campaign by opting IN and recharging with a minimum of R10 airtime. Through a random automated selection process, the contestants were selected and took part in the fast-paced special MTN8 gameshow which saw Khuzwayo walk away with the ultimate prize.

Khuzwayo had the fastest fingers as he correctly answered four of the eight asked questions, cinching the ultimate prize. However, the seven (7) remaining finalists did not go home empty handed – they took home R8 000 and their choice of prizes from the R8 million pool of prizes.

“When we say that we are making lives brighter, it is not only confined to our products and services but through our sponsorships as well. The Last Fan Standing prize has previously changed many lives and we are glad to continue leaving a lasting impact through our properties,” concluded Bodibe.
