MTN dubs 29 Sept: “Y’ello Super Sporting Saturday”

Be ready to see double with the best of both MTN worlds as we approach MTN Super Saturday on 29 September 2018! This is the one day you don’t have to explain if you’re a Rugby or Football fan.

MTN Sponsorship properties MTN8 Wafa Wafa and Springboks will both have massive sporting events take place on Saturday and in light of this, MTN has themed the day as MTN Super Saturday.

The Springboks are asking all SA fans to #AnswerTheCall and continue to rally behind the team as they take on the Wallabies at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth at 17:05 and just after, show your support for the extraordinary repeat of the MTN8 Final between SuperSport United and Cape Town City, which will take place at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium at 19:00.

Fans of teams that have been knocked out, are encouraged to continue opting in to enter the LFS competition by dialling: *130*8# and stand a chance to win a share of R8 million in prizes. In addition, BE THE FAN that wins the Ultimate Last Fan Standing (LFS) prize: R1 million in cash; and a Football Experience for the ultimate LFS winner and seven (7) Friends OR Family to a football tournament of their choice anywhere in the world.

“This day dubbed MTN Super Saturday will be a rare occasion, because whether you are a football or rugby fan, you will be seeing and hearing about the Y’ello brand everywhere you go. MTN has always been a long-time supporter of sports in South Africa and the upcoming Super Saturday further entrenches its position as the ardent supporter of SAs sporting ambitions,” said Mapula Bodibe, MTN SA: Executive for Consumer Business.

Sports fans not going to the stadiums – but would like to watch both games back to back – can experience MTN Super Saturday at the following existing MTN Boktowns: Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp and Crusaders Sports Club in Durban North. This is another way in which MTN is bringing the legions of sports fans unable to go to the stadiums, closer to their passions.

“MTN is committed to the development of sports in SA, so we constantly encourage as much fan support for sporting events – let us come together at stadiums, Boktowns, public viewing venues and enjoy the games that constantly unite our nation,” concludes Bodibe.

The MTN8 Final tickets are selling at R40 for adults and R15 for children under the age of 12 and they are available at TicketPro and Spar outlets countrywide. They can also be purchased at CNA, Postnet, Edgars and Jet stores or online at: www.ticketpros.co.za.
