Fans’ views about the MTN8 Semi-Final second leg

After comfortable 2-0 away wins by Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in the first leg of the MTN8 Semi-Finals, soccer fans across the country believe that the famous Soweto Derby Final is imminent citing lack of proper tactical organisation by Platinum Stars and Bidvest Wits to turn the tables around.

DISKIFANS was on the street soliciting views of the Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs supporters about this weekend’s MTN8 second leg fixtures.

Siyabonga Mgcina Mfundisi: “Well knowing Platinum Stars I wouldn’t write them off as soccer is a very funny game; one goal can lead to another. However, it will depend on how they approach the game if they chose to be defensive then Stars might hurt us but if they open up and score they will kill the game as a fan I’d say I don’t see Chiefs Losing this one.”

Pfunzo Makhuvha: “I think Chiefs’ coach Stuart Baxter will play offensive football as well as Dikwena coach Allan Freese who has nothing to defend which will result in counter attacks against them from Mandla Masango and George Lebese. Chiefs will win the game 2-1 to play the final against our arch-rival Pirates.”

Kedibone Xiyendlayevomo Maluleke: “Eish Pirates is full of surprises but let me say they’ll play a draw 1-1 and we go through to the final to play against Kaizer Chiefs.”

Ndivhuwo Mudau: “I believe that it’s going to be a game of heavy score, Dikwena won’t have the luxury to seat back and only react on Chiefs attacks, they have 2 goals to chase which will open a game more because Chiefs on the other hand will want to send fear to the other teams that FNB is their slaughter house by at least scoring more than two goals.”

Thandolama Bhakaniya Hlomuka: “Obviously Wits have to attack from the first whistle because they have got nothing to defend. Pirates must let them do that but making sure they don’t score but catch them on the counter attack and score goals that will definitely kill their moral.”

BucsQueen Mlotsa: “Wits cannot be trusted. They are very dangerous. However, Pirates must not relax. We need to play balanced defensive and offensive football.  I’m still not happy with our midfield going forward. The creativity is still lacking but it is too early in the season. I wish VV (Vladimir Vermezovic) can deploy offensive team by playing (Kermit) Erasmus, (Helder) Pelembe, (Lehlohonolo) Majoro at the same time to kill the game.

Resilience “Edshine” Makhale: “Chiefs must not relax too much as Dikwena has nothing to lose and they won’t sit back and defend so they will go all out to attack Chiefs with everything they have at their disposal, so Chiefs must be careful not to relax because the 2-0 scoreline is not a true reflection of the first leg. Chiefs were saved by the pole and lack on composure by the Dikwena strikers which let the team down. Chiefs need an early goal to avoid unnecessary pressure in the game.”

Ungulani Lubengu: “It’s game over for Platinum Stars.  Kaizer Chiefs to win 2-0 again with an aggregate of 4-0.”
